Skip the Use

A three-year absence. Suffice to say an eternity. For the fans and everyone else.
Time (and what we do with it), important element of this new album of Skip The Use, is flying by nowadays, social media and black screens, the game has change.
For better and sometimes for worse. For worse and sometimes for better. Matt Bastard and Yan Stefani have not disappeared since 2016, year of their separation, which was never truly one. They worked hard, remotely. On his own for Mat, on the West Coast of the United States. As a group with The NoFace for Yan. Life is such, it draws different paths, offers choices and feeds desires. The bravest may enjoy it.

2019:" Past & Future", the new and incandescent album of Skip The Use, is here. It is not a remix, neither a new formation nor a last chance. No. It's a strengthen friendship, a burning desire to tackle stereotypes and certainties, above all, the need to build a time gateway between yesterday and tomorrow, in order to better federate the hearts and bring together the generations, the souls and the bodies. This disc is both an extended hand, a tight fist, a smirk, a restless club and an electric jaunt which does not take any prisoners. Skip The Use identity, which was always made of eclecticism, passion, fanatic independence and mix without borders, seems to be further strengthen here. It explodes, it vibrates, it waves with rage and energy properly crazy.

Rock, metal, punk, pop, trap, hip hop, electro, who cares? Quickly, we understand that the band from the North prefers freedom without safety net to stupid restrictions. That is probably why the band has decided to produce this album themselves. To fully support themselves and not hide behind any misleading screens. Only time and experience are capable of that.
