Vald
You’ll have to say hello
to Morgins
Vald isn’t just a rapper, he’s an artistic experiment. With his offbeat universe, where the absurd rubs shoulders with reality and punchlines follow one another, he has shaken up the codes of French rap. Since taking his first steps in rap at the age of 17, he has fashioned a style that is instantly recognizable, oscillating between provocation, introspection and dark humor. He struck hard in 2014 with NQNT, a first mixtape where he laid the foundations of his world apart. But it was in 2015 that the general public discovered him with the viral “Bonjour”: a track that suddenly propelled him into the spotlight, ready to conquer the stage. The album that followed, NQNT 2 (2016), cemented his place in the charts with tracks that earned him gold disc certification.
Then came Agartha in 2017, the album that changed the game. Tracks like “Ma meilleure amie” and “Vitrine”, in feat with Damso, became generational anthems, and the album went double platinum. The success is confirmed with XEU (2018), where hits like “Désaccordé”, certified double diamond, explode, propelling the album to triple platinum status and the artist to the top of his game.
In 2019, Vald unveils Ce monde est cruel, certified double platinum: a more mature, darker third album, where he reveals himself while retaining his caustic wit and inimitable flow. The album was enthusiastically received, and his sold-out concerts at the Accor Arena testified to his popularity. In 2020, with Heuss L’Enfoiré, he redefined rap collaborations with Horizon Vertical, an explosive project that went gold.
After shaking up the scene with V, certified double platinum in 2022, Vald proves once again that he’s not done pushing musical boundaries. He’s back on stage with a tour of Zeniths and festivals, as well as a sold-out show at Bercy.
As creative and unique as ever, Vald doesn’t just ride the wave: he surfs it, redefining it with each new project.
